How’s Life : 01/15/ 2024

Good morning! I start out the early hours by saying, God is good. This morning I was double layered in clothing, with my car humming and warming, ready to venture out to work to make deliveries. The journey involved showering snow flakes and slippery ice covered roads. I took a chance last night just by driving home when the Arctic weather began. This morning I kept sending prayers hoping to get a text about not having to go into work today. As soon as I sat in the driver’s seat of my car I get the text from my leads that the station is closed for today. The pacing of God, from his swiftness to not rushing, will forever captivate me.

Thank you Jesus

Do you like this new header image for my life update?

I’ve been playing around more with Canva to get good designs to make my blog stand out. I’m digging this funky font style I choice. It reminds me of the fonts you would see on album covers in the 1970s. My ideas come from above, so I decided to make this header image like the sky with white clouds and a light blue background.

On Friday I went to the barbershop for a much needed haircut. Maybe my timing is bad because i am in one digit weather. This might be my last haircut for a while. This year I want to try growing my hair out more. Tis better to try now while I can still grow hair before any babies come my way. I am told that once parenthood kicks in the hair on a man’s head is slowly kicked out.

Ain’t I clean?

For the past two years I’ve been blowing tunes with harmonicas. After some encouragement from Courtni, who plays bass and acoustic guitar, I’ve decided that I’m going take a crack at plucking away on acoustic guitar.

Shoutout to my wife for putting up with a goofy husband. 😁

I have always wanted to play acoustic guitar but what hesitant I didn’t think I had the time or the skill to learn. I even bought us some fine looking picks to strum along.

Can’t wait!

This past Friday evening I welcomed in the sabbath with my church family. The last time I was at church on a Friday was the last Friday of November. This past holiday season my extra day of delivering was on Fridays. Though I am grateful for the extra pay and being a Santa Clause to the community, I came to realize how essential worship throughout the week is in my life. Coming together to praise, pray, learn, and fellowship with my brothers and sisters in more than one church service during the week takes the edge off of laboring for a dollar and any unexpected turns in life.

For vespers service we talked about being patient on the Lord. We all send requests up to our Heavenly Father. When He will answer our calls is a question we also send up towards Him. How long must I wait? When will this end?

I strive for patience, but as I wait I have a tendency to focus on the situation at hand and how and when I’m going to get out of it. Sometimes the last thing I want to do is fake a smile while I feel like frowning. It’s easy to forget the blessings we have as we thirst for another which will stop our worrying. All these years in the church and I’m learning that praising while we wait can improve our character. The waiting period gives us opportunity to turn to the psalms and other scriptures so we apply them to our lives to grow. Time truly does reveal all.

Last December when all my Christmas shopping was done, I bought myself – another patch for my denim jacket.

This simple black and white patch reads, “Live With Intention”. This makes the seventh patch on my jacket. Seven is special to me because of my Christian background. It’s one of many numbers mentioned through the Bible. My intention this year is to not live each day with the attitude of whatever happens happens. Each day I can have a goal and put aside anything that gets in my way. Above all I can remind myself that I have good coach to cheer me on and give me a kick in the pants. Coach Jesus, what’s the play?!

Be well. Be groovy. Have a nice day!
