Snowstorm Overnight Stay

When we were kids we longed for snowdays to get us out of school for a day or two. Now as adults we may dread them because inspite of slick roads and icy conditions we still are required to drive to work.

To those who have to leave the house for work during harsh weather, I hold you in prayer. As a commuter and a person who has to work outside, I know the struggle.

Delivery Drivers, don’t attempt roads that look like this. You will slide and or get stuck.

It blows my mind that some businesses and companies still ask us to come into when the drive could be treacherous. If you can drive through snow and ice, give yourself a pat on the pack, and thank God. Still you can’t control the weather or other drivers who don’t abide by road rules even on a sunny day. If we wanted to risk our lives for a job we would all be cops and soldiers.

If you must make that trip to work and believe road conditions will be worse after your shift, I recommend packing overnight bags and looking into the closest hotel by your workplace.

Ensure that the hotel is close by your job location so you don’t have to venture too far. Your place of stay doesn’t have to be the finest and priciest 5 star hotel, but it doesn’t hurt to go to a place that you know is clean. Avoid those roaches, bed bugs, COVID variants, and sexually transmitted diseases. You don’t know who was in those rooms last, or if the rooms are thoroughly and regularly cleaned. Also, a hotel that serves meals is a plus. That way you don’t have to leave to seek out food. Read up on hotel reviews ahead of time.
