How to Get To Work On Time

Are you ever late for work in the morning? Of course you are. I myself have arrived at the job site past the shift. I don’t do it intentionally. Sometimes I misplace something. Rare times I oversleep. Too often the early morning traffic kicks my butt. I wish so badly I could freeze time so this would never happen. What can we do to make it to work on time?

Set Alarms Notice I said “alarms”, as in plural. If you set one alarm for one time there is the chance that you will not hear it while you are catching z’s, or it will wake you up, but you’ll simply hit snooze and drift back into dream land. Program your cellphone alarm to go off at different times just in case the first one fails.

Make Sure Uniform Is Ready If you work the morning shift, I recommend having your attire washed and wrinkle free the night before. You will save yourself the hassle of waiting in the next morning for the iron to heat up and the dryer to finish your wet clothes an hour or so before your shift.

Locate Your Badge I have a bad habit of leaving my badge on my previous uniform or letting it land on the floor or bed after a long day’s work. When you work as hard as I do you cannot wait to strip off the uniform and kick back in your bed. I recommend placing your badge on your dresser, if it is free of clutter. An even better option is having it attached to your clean uniform, ready to go for tomorrow morning.

Locate Wallet & Phone It may seem silly to turn the car around for any of these, but driving without a license is a no-go. Plus, let’s be honest your phone is like a limb. Before leaving the house, make sure you have both of these items on you, otherwise you’ll find yourself turning around on the road cursing yourself out for your forgetfulness.

Leave Home Early As my high school director liked to say me and all of peers, “To be early is to be on time. To be on time is to be late.

Shower the Night Before Me personally I’m a clean freak when it comes to body cleansing. I always feel a bit dirty in the early morning, especially if I’m sweating. If you like to take long showers, cleaning up the night before is definitely a better option for you. All you have to do come the A.M. is throw on your uniform, brush teeth, do hair, and put on deodorant and fragrances.

Get Enough Sleep Tell your significant other/friend you will finish your conversation later, and don’t let them guilt trip. Your Netflix n’ Chill session is to be continued the next day after work. Put down the booze so you don’t come into work hungover looking like you had the worst night ever. Your body needs rest.

I hope these tips are beneficial to you. Thank you for reading. May you get to work on time and ready to get those dollars. Have a good day. God Bless.

I was born on January 31, 1992. I graduated from Austin Peay State University in December 2015 with a B.S. My major was Communications, with a concentration in Print & Web Journalism. My minor was English, with a concentration in Creative Writing. Writing is my passion. I’m a book lover. I prefer to to be called a Booklion rather than a bookworm. Why- lions are mightier.
My first love is Jesus Christ. I was raised in the Seventh-Day Adventist Church. No we are not a cult. We are Christians who worship on Saturday.
I have been stuttering since I was four, but through Christ I have persevered through it and will continue to do so. I’m not thing with Him.
Singing is another passion of mine. God blessed with me with the gift of song, which I am grateful for.
