Throughout my 25 years of life I have received many Christmas gifts- from toys to clothing. But there is one that sticks out to me the most.
Last Christmas, before I had to go into work, I received a special gift from my mother. That gift was a tie clip. Not just any type of tie clip, but a golden one with a pair of praying hands. As I beheld the clip, which reflected off the ceiling lights, I thought about how fitting a gift it was for my type of lifestyle. While I am a churchgoer, I don’t consider myself a saint, I do however consider myself a prayer warrior- one who prays often. Sometimes I wonder if I’m wearing God out with my constant requests and prayers that seem minor, such as asking Him to touch my lips when I speak and for protection on the road, even if it’s just to go around the corner to check on my grandma.
Every time I sport my tie clip, holding my tie together it reminds me that I should hold myself together, for God is just a prayer away. That sounded a tad by cliched, but that’s how I feel.
What is one of the best Christmas gifts you ever received?
