Hey friends and family. It’s been over a week since we last spoke. Everything is good. I’ve just been living and taking time to think about what more to share with you all. I appreciate these times.😊 I apologize for not reading and giving as much feedback to your blogs during my away time, but I’m reading through all of your work as of now.
I don’t believe I have ever shared this bit of information with you all, but I’m not too keen on hearing or seeing myself speak on video. Seeing my eyes flicker, my tongue push against my teeth and my face looking like I’m having a seizure or a sneeze isn’t a pretty sight. When I’m doing a long video or a short video on Snapchat, Instagram or Facebook it takes me a couple of takes before I post something I’m satisfied with. For example this first video from Last Saturday and this second video from this morning.
What motivated me to share this with you all was seeing another person with a speech impediment speak on video. I believe her name is Caroline, and seeing her talk about similar things that I go through on a daily basis was encouraging. What was truly inspiring was how she seemed so at ease with her speech and how she wasn’t letting it get in the way. Thanks Caroline!
Despite how I may look to myself or others as I’m speaking , I speak on! I feel like it is my duty as a PWO(person who stutters) to video myself to encourage people like myself to not be afraid to listen to their own voices and have others listen as well. My stutter has played a part in shaping me, but it does not define me.
