Hello everyone, it’s been a couple of days but how’s it going?
This past weekend was a good one for myself and my church Pathfinder club. We went out to Highland Academy for Pathfinder/Adventurer Fun Day. We were concerned that we were going to get rained out because of what the weather people predicted, but God decided to hold back the rains for us to do what we had to do. Aside from the intense heat and annoying insects feasting on our skin, we had a good time.
We had the parade on Sunday, and it was my first time participating in one, as well as our new club’s first. Many other clubs of other churches were there in attendance as well. Our club is called The Chosen. Three of us, myself included) were responsible for carrying the American Flag; Christian Flag; and the Pathfinder Flag. For those unfamiliar with the pledge of the Christian Flag and Pathfinder Flag, allow me to share with you.
I pledge allegiance to the Christian Flag, and to Savior for whose kingdom it stands; one brotherhood, uniting all christians in service and love
The Pathfinder pledge:
By the grace of God I will be pure, kind, and true. I will keep the Pathfinder law. I will be a servant of God and a friend to man.
Despite aching feet, desert like heat, and a couple of embarrassing moments involving flags and trees, we pulled through just fine. I was highly impressed by other Pathfinder clubs during the drill competitions. It made me look forward to seeing our group of young people grow and advance in their marching.
After the parade, our club went to our canopy to get our sell on. We sold pizza, brownies, cookies, chips, Gatorade, and water. We were determined to get the last dollar, so for the last several minutes while everyone was breaking down their tables and canopies, we were still trying to get rid of as much as our supplies as we possible. The non vegan pizza and Gatorade sold out like crazy. I don’t want to say how much we made, but overall I think we did pretty solid. Where the money is going to I am not entirely sure just yet.
In honor of National Smile Day, here goes a selfie for you all. Tell me, did those years of braces pay off? To all my followers, I encourage you all to keep smiling, even when it’s really difficult sometimes.
I would like to ask everyone to say a prayer for the friends and family of an individual who I went to school with, who was killed in a vehicle collision a while back. I remember him having a good personality and a good smile. We hung out once last year at a friend’s birthday dinner and he seemed to be doing really well for himself. It’s crazy to see people you grew up with pass on so suddenly and so soon. May God rest his soul and many prayers to his family. May they lean towards God during these times.

I would have bought ALL the pizza! I wish pizza was that cheap here in the Caribbean 😦 but I’m glad you guys achieved your goal that day! Thanks for updating us Dav, and…nice smile 😉
