You Got The Wrong One

Oh no. That person says they’re Christian. I bet they want to burn me at the stake and condemn me to the fiery pits of hell. They must think they’re better than me. It’s okay for them to screw up, but damn if anyone else does, because they themselves think they’re saved. I bet they wear a fake smile everyday. Their life must be boring and sheltered. They’re probably looking at my piercings and tattoos wishing I didn’t have them. They probably want me to change my clothes. Guess I better not smoke or drink in front of them. They probably want me to watch what I say or risk offending someone. I bet if I walk into their church they’d look at me like I have a tail. I bet they’re all the way conservative and dislike liberal way of thinking. In their eyes I’m probably a freak of nature; an abomination. I just know they want to yank away my rights and force their morals on me. No buddy. I want nothing to do with them or their God.

Did you ever think that maybe there are professed believers who have no desire to condemn anybody? Maybe there are some of them who recognize that they themselves are just as flawed as everyone else walking on the earth. People who have no problem associating or being in the same place with anyone no matter what their beliefs are. Is it possible that perhaps a believer’s attitude towards a nonbeliever is “Live your life. Just let me live mine.”? Maybe they want to live their lives unbothered just as much as you do. Maybe just maybe their goal is to not to hate on anyone, but to work on bettering themselves and loving everyone as they would themselves.

I know a couple of people as such. One of whom, whose blog post you’re reading at this very very second.

I love you all. Can’t we not all love one another?

God Bless!

By David Harris

I was born on January 31, 1992. I graduated from Austin Peay State University in December 2015 with a B.S. My major was Communications, with a concentration in Print & Web Journalism. My minor was English, with a concentration in Creative Writing. Writing is my passion. I’m a book lover. I prefer to to be called a Booklion rather than a bookworm. Why- lions are mightier.
My first love is Jesus Christ. I was raised in the Seventh-Day Adventist Church. No we are not a cult. We are Christians who worship on Saturday.
I have been stuttering since I was four, but through Christ I have persevered through it and will continue to do so. I’m not thing with Him.
Singing is another passion of mine. God blessed with me with the gift of song, which I am grateful for.
