Church & Bible Activities: Bible Jenga

Today’s activity is one I came across on Pinterest a couple years ago. A few years ago I played it with my church youth ministry, and recently I dug it up for a young adults meeting. Both groups appeared to enjoy it.

Bible Jenga

Materials: You will need two sets of Jenga blocks or how many sets you need depending on how many teams or individuals you want this to be for. Whether you decide to write on those blocks using a marker or to use small labels is up to you. For those book titles that have more than one book( ex. 1 Corinthians & 2 Corinthians; 1 Samuel & 2 Samuel) simply put all numbers and the book on one block.

How to play: You the host can decide however way you want to play. You can call out a Bible book you want participants to remove from the tower of blocks, or you can instruct participants to remove blocks on their own until a tower crumbles. There doesn’t have to be a winner. If you want to make it a competition, the one standing tower wins the game.

Purpose/lesson: Imagine we are like a tower of blocks. When we remove God’s word from our lives, when we lack a solid foundation we become unstable and eventually come tumbling down.

Good idea?
