What’s Up Wednesday

Evening friends and family, I’ve been wanting to do one of these posts for quite some time, but I was always too tired or busy with other blog posts. This is my What’s Up Wednesday.

For the last two nights I’ve been eating brisket my cousin Greg made for the family. My parents make sure to get some everytime they visit him and his wife Jan in Texas. Combine that with veggie beans and coleslaw, and you have a good meal.

I’m reminiscing about having someone special in my life. It would nice to just kick it with someone after a long day’s work. Anyone in particular- no. I haven’t really put in any effort into dating for a while now. I guess I’m just more focused on making a living and doing what’s best for me, than on being with someone who may steal my time and stress me,  Should the matter come up, hopefully the person will be interested, accept me, and be able to handle my personality. Hopefully I can do the same.

I’m loving just being alive in God. Not a day goes by when I’m not thankful to just be living above ground. It’s crazy that people are unfortunate to lose their lives; sometimes before they really get a chance to live.

What have I been up to? Today I have been working my 12 hour shift at the hospital. I’m thankful that I have a coworker who closes with me. He’s a good listener, and he is just a hard worker as I am. Not to mention there is never a dull moment with working with me. I can always count on him to make me laugh during a tough day.

I’m dreading the day that I once again have…WRITER’S BLOCK!!!!!!

At the moment I am working on my blog. There is a post that has been sitting in my drafts since Christmas. Why this long- other ideas came to mind. But now I feel is a good time as any to get it out in the world. Pray I get it posted before the week ends.

I’m excited that I applied for a news reporter position in Paris, Tennessee. I don’t know if I’ll get an answer back, but I’m just happy that God presented me with this window of opportunity. If I don’t get an interview or get no reply, I’ll just pray about it and keep going. I’ve been doing just fine. I’m writing on my own time, praying, and have a job that pays.

This week I have successfully been reading my Bible and doing my weekly lesson study.  I even got back into the routine of reading a book of Proverbs for each day of the month.  I intend to finish my journey of reading the entire bible. I stopped at 1 Samuel chapter 15. Let’s get down to business!

I’m listening to the hands ticking away on the clock my college news staff gave me as graduation gift.

My current attire is – white tank top and stripped boxers. It’s getting hot, so I’ll probably peel off the shirt and switch the fan on.

This weekend I am going to Church, as I do every Saturday. I wouldn’t have it any other way. My parents and I are supposed to sing for special music during the service. And I’m supposed to sing solo for Sabbath School’s special music. What am I gonna sing? 🤔Here’s to hoping that I can also stay awake during the sermon and learn something from it.

Next month I’m looking forward to more writing. I’ve gone this far, and I don’t want to stop.

There is nothing new to share at this very second. But if there is you all will be the first ones I’ll tell.

Thank you for stopping by, and have a good night.

By David Harris

I was born on January 31, 1992. I graduated from Austin Peay State University in December 2015 with a B.S. My major was Communications, with a concentration in Print & Web Journalism. My minor was English, with a concentration in Creative Writing. Writing is my passion. I’m a book lover. I prefer to to be called a Booklion rather than a bookworm. Why- lions are mightier.
My first love is Jesus Christ. I was raised in the Seventh-Day Adventist Church. No we are not a cult. We are Christians who worship on Saturday.
I have been stuttering since I was four, but through Christ I have persevered through it and will continue to do so. I’m not thing with Him.
Singing is another passion of mine. God blessed with me with the gift of song, which I am grateful for.
