Blogging Challenge- Day 14: Favorite Quotes

I’ve heard so many quotes during my life. Some quotes inspire me, while some I can’t relate to. What are my favorites, you ask?🤔

1. “Be Well. Be Groovy.”

You notice I use this phrase a lot. There is always that one professor/ teacher who you remember well or leaves a mark. One of those professors for me is Ken Cerveli. I remember him well for two reasons. One, he loved to stand on tables. Looking back I wonder if he got that from Mr. Keating from the movie Dead Poets Society. Either that or maybe he wanted to see if anyone was on their phone during his lesson. Two, his closing remarks at the end of each session which were “Be Well. Be Groovy.” At the time I took his class I was going through a depression over a female. Don’t judge. It happens to the best of us. His class and his saying were one of the shining lights during my time of cloudiness. Eventually with his words of encouragement, counseling, and prayer, I was able to be happy again.

2. “It is better to trust in the Lord, than to put confidence in man”- Psalm 118:9

People will let you down, even those who are blood related. But God, He is the one being in existence who isn’t going to talk about you behind your back; abandon you when you’re feeling lonely; and not cover anything that belongs to you.

3. “I can do all things through Christ, who strengthens me. –Phillippians 4:13

Even if I can’t always remember where the text is found, I find myself saying this scripture almost every day.  I like to recite it to myself every morning in front of the mirror to raise my confidence in my speech. I still stutter, but I have to believe that each day gets better and easier.

I was born on January 31, 1992. I graduated from Austin Peay State University in December 2015 with a B.S. My major was Communications, with a concentration in Print & Web Journalism. My minor was English, with a concentration in Creative Writing. Writing is my passion. I’m a book lover. I prefer to to be called a Booklion rather than a bookworm. Why- lions are mightier.
My first love is Jesus Christ. I was raised in the Seventh-Day Adventist Church. No we are not a cult. We are Christians who worship on Saturday.
I have been stuttering since I was four, but through Christ I have persevered through it and will continue to do so. I’m not thing with Him.
Singing is another passion of mine. God blessed with me with the gift of song, which I am grateful for.

Love all these quotes especially the last one. I couldn’t attend the blogging party because I was in the plane headed to Africa! lol. My parents didn’t want me to tell any one for security reasons until we came back since I am still I child.
