What We’re Eating This Week:
I’m still eating the cafeteria food at my job. I think we can call agree that hospital cafeteria food is light years ahead of the concoctions served in school cafeterias. Then again, I do miss strawberry milk and smiley fries. You miss em’ too. Don’t lie
What I’m Reminiscing About:
I’m still thinking about the solar eclipse I got to see this Monday. As I mentioned in my last blog post, the glowing outline of the sun behind the moon made the phenomena look like a human eye- the moon a pupil and the sunlight a sclera.
What I’m Dreading:
The next news topic I hear about another person in their 20s and below losing their life.
What I’m Working On:
This blog post and of course bettering myself day by day.
What I’m Loving:
I love meditating every morning like I started doing since this Monday. I love lettting all those negative thoughts and emotions flee from my mind, even if it’s just for ten minutes. I love imagining I’m sitting in the greenest fields on Earth, with the sunset sky looking a ripe peach.
What We’ve Been Up To:
Recently I watched and completed the Netflix ministeries The Defenders. On a scale of 1 to 10 I give the show an 8. Some good things I liked about the show were the interaction between the four heroes(particularly Danny Rand and Luke Cage) and the action. Even Finn Jones’s fight moves had improved a little, which was needed.
What I didn’t like about the show was:
- There was no Punisher cameo.
- Matt Murdock was the only one who suited up. Just give Danny a suit already!
- Just like season 1 of Iron Fist, we still don’t get a look into the city of K’un Lun. How are we supposed to sympathize with Danny failing the city he was adopted into if we never get to see it?
- Alexandria was made out to be this force to be reckoned with in the trailers, then just like Cottonmouth in Luke Cage season, she gets killed and replaced.
- I’m not bashing hip hop, but that song that played during the climactic fight in the final episode just seemed out of place and unnecessary.
What I’m Excited About:
I’m about excited about the next time we have the Adventist Youth Program at my church.
Last Saturday, I dove into Ellen G. White’s “The Adventist Home”. The back cover of the book reads,
“The Christian Family: Adventist Home can be a little bit of heaven on earth, if certain basic principles are followed. Like a chart to a sailor, this volume offers a reliable guide to those sailing on the challenging sea of matrimony. Counsel is offered on many facets of home life: choosing a mate, child discipline, grandparents, holidays, hospitality, moral standards, divorce, and living with an unbelieving spouse. The author points out pitfalls to be avoided and shows how to have a happy marriage by injecting the grace of God and the principles of Christian courtesy into every aspect of family life”.
So far I am enjoying this book as much as I enjoyed reading White’s “Messages to Young People” five years ago during my depression period. Her wisdom and encouragement were one of the good things I experienced during those sad times.
What I’m Listening To:
As I’m writing this blog post, I’m listening to a strings cover of Pachelbel Canon In D.
What I’m Wearing:
At the moment I am wearing my work uniform since I just got off work. Let me peel that off, and why am I still wearing my shoes…in my room!? I wear these clothes so much during the week that I might as well sell all my other wardrobe. On second day thought, NOT GONNA HAPPEN! I love my suits and ties.
What I’m Doing This Weekend:
- Ironing clothes
- Cleaning the church with my parents before the Sabbath.
- See my girlfriend if she is available.
- Continue reading The Adventist Home
- Job searching online
- Vacuuming
- Dusting
- Going to church
- Hitting the gym
- Blogging and do some creative writing
What I’m Looking Forward To Next Goals
New Goals and Conquering Them!👊🏾👊🏾👊🏾
What Else Is New?
As requested by one of my awesome supervisors, I’m now researching and writing five facts about unique days, such as National Eat a Peach Day and National Sweet Tea Days. I do those because she needs five facts for the cafeteria signs she creates each day. I’m happy lend a hand wherever and whenever I can.
How was your Wednesday going? Let me know and I’ll be sure to respond.
Be well. Be groovy, and God Bless.
