Say Hello to My Little Friend

Say hello to my little friend Devontae, the fly; little; yellow fellow in the back of my car. This man right here reminds me to be relaxed when I’m out there on the crazy roads. Not to mention he is one of the few folks in my life who doesn’t drive me crazy. When I look at Devontae with his shades and endless grin, he reminds me that I shouldn’t let myself get worked up about the little things in life, such as relationships; political issues; my job; or trying to come up with something good to write about… much like I’m doing now.

I’m sure you’re thinking, This man(David) has bumped his head. IT’S A FREAKIN’ EMOJI!!!!!!

To that I say, if Tom Hanks can talk to a volleyball on a deserted island just to hold unto his sanity, surely I can have an object in my car to stay calm on the busy roads and roads of life.

Get yourself a little friend to ride with.

Have a good day.

By David Harris

I was born on January 31, 1992. I graduated from Austin Peay State University in December 2015 with a B.S. My major was Communications, with a concentration in Print & Web Journalism. My minor was English, with a concentration in Creative Writing. Writing is my passion. I’m a book lover. I prefer to to be called a Booklion rather than a bookworm. Why- lions are mightier.
My first love is Jesus Christ. I was raised in the Seventh-Day Adventist Church. No we are not a cult. We are Christians who worship on Saturday.
I have been stuttering since I was four, but through Christ I have persevered through it and will continue to do so. I’m not thing with Him.
Singing is another passion of mine. God blessed with me with the gift of song, which I am grateful for.
