Hello my familiar readers! To my new readers, welcome!
I recently learned of an awesome monthly challenge from one of my outstanding blog neighbors Maggie, from Dreaming of Guatemala. She invited everyone to participate in her April Blogging Challenge, so please check check out her blog, and click the link to learn about this challenge. As you can it is my April 1. I got a pretty busy schedule busy schedule so I will try to get caught up as soon as possible and continue with the challenge as much as I possibly can. So without further delay, let’s get caught up.
1- Something Beautiful to You
One beautiful perk about having to exit my house and the warmth of the comforters on my bed for work is getting to behold the sky to see the sun rising and then peeking through the clouds with its gold peeking from behind the clouds.
I like to call these sights Celestial Glows. I know it’s simply the sun behind the clouds, but I like to imagine that it is Heaven showing what glory it can for mortal eyes until the time Christ returns one day.
I took this last photo last year. I was at work having a stressful day, and I just had to go out on the back dock to get some air to calm my nerves. It was there on the dock, breathing in and out, and trying to free my mind that I look to the cloudy skies; with alabaster and gold rays raining down from the open gaps.
Aside from how extravagant these Heaven like sights are, Celestial Glows, remind me that God is up there and no matter how low I may feel about myself or how timid I may get when coming face to face with something, that there is a being who is much bigger than what this world has to throw at me. Shortly after seeing this, I slowly worked a smile on my face, said a few words to my God, and walked back inside and got the rest of my labors taken care of.
Looking to the sky often reminds me of a church hymn that goes, “This world is not my home I’m just a passing through/ I’m just a passing through/ My treasures are laid up somewhere beyond the blue/ The angels beckon me from heaven’s open door/ And I can’t feel at home in this world anymore.
What is something that is beautiful to you?
