I got back home from my vacation on Tuesday, and I had a wonderful time on board the Carnival Victory cruise to the Bahamas. The ship had 9 decks and there was always something to do on all of them. There was never a dull moment onboard a cruise with karaoke, comedy shows, dance clubs, live music, spas, stores, contests, jacuzzis, and more.
There were nine decks, and Mike and I stayed on the second. We could always count on room and sheets being cleaned by housekeeping every morning when we left the room. The housekeepers showed their love by leaving not only by cleaning and changing sheets, but by also leaving our clean towels in the shape of animals. Mike and I scratched our heads at how they managed to make a giraffe.
The cruse was one big melting pot, meaning everyone was of different races and cultures. The crew and passengers included black, white, Filipino, Korean, Indian, Puerto Rican, Jamaican, Mexican, etc. Everyone seemed to get along more than fine.
Day 1
Day 2- Nassau, Bahamas
Many of us onboard were a little disappointed when we discovered that it was raining when we pulled into the ports of Nassau. But that didn’t stop us from arming ourselves with ponchos and umbrellas to explore the streets of the town. I found something in the city that you most likely won’t find in the states- a payphone. The people truly seemed like hard workers because everywhere we went someone was always trying to get us to buy something. We did of course- a couple of souvenirs for ourselves and family.
Day 3
I couldn’t leave the cruise without turning up on the mic one last time at karaoke. Whether you can sing or not, an audience will go hype when they hear a song they like. The song sung in this video is New Edition’s signature hit song Can You Stand the Rain. Many of you may recognize this song from the film Best Man’s Holiday, from the scene where the four male characters serenade all their ladies with some lip sync and smooth dance moves.
To those who have never been on a cruise, I encourage you to go on at least one during your lifetime. I highly recommend the Carnival Victory cruise line. They staff and crew willmake you feel welcome and leave you with many memories.
Later everyone.
