Seven Day Scriptures: Day 4

Good morning everyone. I pray everyone is feeling really good this morning. I’m feeling mighty fine. Fine enough to once again share some bread with you all. That bread is God’s Word. Let’s feast.

Yesterday, we talked about how God does not leave us without weapons to go into battles. But what’s a soldier with protection, armor. Though not visible to the eye, a soldier of the Lord has a special kind of armor that no mortal hand can duplicate.

“Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord and in the power of His might. Put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this age, against spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places. Therefore take up the whole armor of God, that you may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand. Stand therefore, having girded your waist with truth, having put on the breastplate of righteousness, and having shod your feet with the preparation of the gospel of peace; above all, taking the shield of faith with which you will be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked one. And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God; praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, being watchful to this end with all perseverance and supplication for all the saintsโ€” and for me, that utterance may be given to me, that I may open my mouth boldly to make known the mystery of the gospel, for which I am an ambassador in chains; that in it I may speak boldly, as I ought to speak.”- Ephesians 6: 10- 20

Keep in mind that armor isn’t made to just sit around in. It’s made to go out in combat. Though you don’t have to pick a fight with anybody, just know you have the protection needed to face anything and anyone on the spiritual battlefield. When your enemies notice that armor you’re wearing and see the wonders it can do, they may want to suit and enlist in the same army you’re a part of- The Lord’s Army.

As Jeff Wood wrote in the song Side by Side, “Soldiers all are we to go where Jesus leads,/ We’ll fight in faith and we will overcome./ Heaven is our goal, and saving every soul;/ pray that we all will be there.”.

God Bless!

By David Harris

I was born on January 31, 1992. I graduated from Austin Peay State University in December 2015 with a B.S. My major was Communications, with a concentration in Print & Web Journalism. My minor was English, with a concentration in Creative Writing. Writing is my passion. Iโ€™m a book lover. I prefer to to be called a Booklion rather than a bookworm. Why- lions are mightier.
My first love is Jesus Christ. I was raised in the Seventh-Day Adventist Church. No we are not a cult. We are Christians who worship on Saturday.
I have been stuttering since I was four, but through Christ I have persevered through it and will continue to do so. Iโ€™m not thing with Him.
Singing is another passion of mine. God blessed with me with the gift of song, which I am grateful for.
